We have been your supplier for lift doors for many years. Whenever you have used our service, we have always done our best to satisfy you.

Thank you very much for counting on our service.

As of 01.01.2024, we are unfortunately forced to change our spare parts prices.

Rising material and manufacturing costs and increased energy costs have unfortunately also affected us. As a result, we can no longer cover our costs without making a price adjustment .

We want to continue our service without compromising on quality and are therefore forced to take this measure. Incidentally, we also have some positive news: we intend to maintain our wide range of spare parts for Meiller lift doors.

Farewell from Mr Nothaft / Announcement of new management

Dear Sir or Madam,

Today I would like to say my goodbyes to you.

After 20 years as managing director of MEILLER Aufzugtüren GmbH, I will retire on 1.7.2023.

For the company and for me personally, these 20 years have been a successful, and hugely enjoyable time. Ultimately, we owe this success to you, our customers and partners, and above all to the trust you have placed in us over the years. For this, I would like to say a heartfelt "thank you" once again today.

I am delighted that Mr Christian Dressler and Mr Klaus Schafranietz will then take over responsibility for MEILLER Aufzugtüren GmbH in my place and I ask you to place the same trust in them.

Dear Sir or Madam, Dear Business Partners,

We, the new managing directors, would like to briefly introduce ourselves to you.

I, Christian Dreßler, have been with Meiller Aufzugtüren GmbH since 1st January 2023 and I am very pleased to be taking over from Wolfgang Nothaft from July and to be managing our company together with Mr Klaus Schafranietz.

After studying business administration at the University of Passau, I started my career in the lift industry at the secondary brand of Otis Germany, first as a sales representative for new installations, branch manager and finally as sales manager for Germany. In 2014, I switched to the door automation industry, where I held managing positions at KOS Spezialtüren (record Group) and record Türautomation GmbH as well as Gilgen Door Systems.

I am very much looking forward to my new role here at Meiller and especially to working with you.

I, Klaus Schafranietz, have been working for Meiller for 35 years. The first 10 years in the test department for tipper bodies and the other 25 years at Meiller Aufzugtüren GmbH.

After studying automotive engineering in Munich, I passed through various positions at Meiller, from production support to head of production, plant management to head of engineering and then general manager. For 20 years I was able to successfully accompany Mr. Nothaft in the management of Meiller Aufzugtüren GmbH and I am now looking forward to the new challenges as technical managing director.

I would be honoured to receive the same trust from you as a longstanding business partner as Mr. Nothaft was able to experience during his tenure.

It is important to Mr. Dreßler and I to continuously improve our company so that we can do "a very good job" for you. That is what we are here for together as the Meiller Lift Doors Team. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Nothaft for his many years of active commitment and wish him all the best for the future.

ZENIT^® XTREME

we have a heavy-duty sliding door in our range that is not only available in oversized dimensions, but also proves itself day in, day out, even in the roughest industrial operations thanks to its extremely robust construction and sophisticated technology, and ensures that your elevators run trouble-free.

In the 6-panel version, the door is available in door widths from 2400 mm to 8000 mm, the 4-panel version starts at TB 1600 mm and ends at 5300 mm. MiDrive CAN fault memory

Dear Sir or Madam,

The MiDrive is able to record the last 1000 relevant errors in the past in its error memory (event memory). Since the MiDrive has an RTC (a clock that can continue to run for up to 4 weeks without power via a capacitor), the date and time information in the error memory is continuously traceable.
Due to the size of the memory, it is possible to look back to the initial Setup.

The memory can be retrieved

via PC à via USB MiDrive PC Tool data logger
via CANopen via Virtual Terminal
The smartphone app function is currently being worked on, an update will probably be available at the beginning of Q3.

The error memory was already available in version 1.00.059 as a beta function (only accessible via PC). As of 1.00.060, it can be accessed via the described channels.

COVID-19, war, lack of raw materials, energy crisis, etc., not long ago all of this would still probably have been described as a “worst-case scenario” - and now we’re right in the middle of it.

Even if we couldn’t imagine this unusual, strenuous time would ask us to put up with so much, it is ultimately we who should not give up and must believe in calmer times, hopefully soon.

For this we wish you and your family members a lot of distance, calm and strength. Don’t let us spoil the joy of Christmas!

MOD Concept RetroLine

Dear Sir or Madam,

You are probably already familiar with our flexible MOD Concept for the modernisation of car and landing doors. The different versions give you and your customers the possibility to replace existing and outdated automatic doors completely or only in parts, depending on necessity or customer requirements.

In most cases, the car doors are the most likely to be worn, as they are the ones that make the most door movements in a lift over the course of time. And the mechanics are particularly affected. With our ComfortLine variant, we offer you the option of replacing only the door mechanism and connecting the existing door panels to the new MEILLER mechanism. And our variable skate system makes it possible to keep and operate the existing landing doors.

But if there is also damage to the door panels due to improper use or vandalism, the only option is to replace the complete door. With our CompleteLine you get a complete new MEILLER car door, with double-walled door panels and variable skate system for combination with the existing landing doors. In most cases, however, this solution requires additional adaptation work on the existing lift car.

With our RetroLine, we now offer you another option for your modernisation: In addition to a new car door mechanism, we supply new door panels, in single-walled design and in the dimensions of the existing door panels. Ideally, this means that no or only minor adaptations to the existing lift car are necessary, which significantly reduces the effort and costs.

Discontinued Tormax

Dear Sir or Madam,

This newsletter is to inform you that the Tormax drive for our swing doors will be discontinued on 31^st December 2022.

The current market situation entails a rethinking and reconsideration of our product portfolio. We would like to continue to offer you attractive prices and to give you as a loyal customer the greatest possible added value. Therefore, we are designing our portfolio more effectively and adapting it to the current market and cost situation.

Our swing doors can still be supplied and prepared for installation of a Tormax drive. However, the drive can no longer be obtained from Meiller, but directly from the manufacturer.

Information about price adjustments for Siemens AT40 and improved delivery time

Dear Sir or Madam,

In our last newsletter dated 10th August 2022, we informed you that we had successfully introduced the new MDD6 door control unit which is 100% compatible with the AT40 door control unit into our product range.

In the same letter, we announced that for all orders received after 1st October 2022, the AT 40 door control units will be subject to an additional charge.

This applies to complete door orders for automatically opening sliding car doors. Orders with the MDD6 door drive are not affected.

For orders with AT40, the additional price is defined as follows:

Siemens AT40 200kg motor and Siemens door control unit: € 50 net per door.
Siemens AT40 400kg motor and Siemens door control unit: € 205,20 net per door

All other optional prices for door operators, as well as the additional door prices for Meiller MiDrive, remain unchanged.

We are also pleased to inform you that we have been able to further improve the delivery times for our standard products and are now able to reduce them to 6 to 8 weeks again.

New door control MDD 6

Dear Sir or Madam,

In times of interrupted supply chains, shortages of materials (especially electronic components) as well as resulting drastic price increases, we as the Meiller team are called upon to think even further outside the box and act more proactively and flexibly than ever before. This is the key to success in order to remain able to deliver for you, valued partners and customers.

For this reason, we have added another door control unit to our range:

MDD6 - Meiller Door Drive 6.

This new door control device is fully and backwards compatible with the AT40M. MDD6 has an integrated transformer and can do both relay and CAN switching in one unit, similar to our MiDrive.

See on the right the features at a glance in direct comparison with Siemens AT40M and Meiller MiDrive:

MDD6 can be ordered as a new MEILLER standard door control unit as an alternative to Siemens AT40M from 1^st October 2022.

The entry-level price will be at the same level as the previous AT40M relay. This means that you will even have a monetary advantage when using the CAN function.

At the same time, we would like to inform you that we will be able to offer doors with Siemens AT40M door operators (relay and CAN) from 1^st October 2022 with corresponding additional prices.

Announcement Gravida Basic and discontinuation Pura

Nothing is more constant than change. MEILLER aims to constantly improve its products and processes. Particularly in times like these, with disrupted supply chains and the resulting shortage of materials, as well as sustainability issues, it is of great concern to us to use resource-saving materials in our products.

Today we are introducing the newly launched Gravida Basic door sill family. The Gravida Basic thus replaces the Gravida Steel with immediate effect.

We will automatically exchange earlier offers that become orders with the Gravida Basic. This also applies to subsequent spare parts orders.

Gravida Stainless Steel version will remain available for special applications, e.g. in the chemical or food industry.

What changes or advantages does this bring for you?

More resistant stainless steel surface with improved appearance
Cost savings due to cheaper interior with galvanised steel
Gravida Hidden Track, Gravida Plus and solid versions are still available and have an improved appearance with a price advantage compared to the full stainless steel version
Interesting for use without increased corrosion protection
Load-bearing capacity and robustness of the Gravida
Dimensions and connection points remain the same

Due to the extremely increased costs for stainless steel we had to adjust the affected prices.

At the same time we would like to inform you that we are discontinuing the Pura door sill. The discontinuation will take place on 15^th June 2022. The Gravida Basic is also recommended here in the spare parts requirement.

Changes to spare parts prices as of 1 June 2022

Dear Sir or Madam,

The Russia-Ukraine war is causing considerable upheaval in the metal processing industry, and in turn also on the lift industry.

Besides the dramatic rises in energy and raw material costs, there are broad-based bottlenecks that are affecting materials and components, especially metals like steel, stainless steel and aluminium. In addition, the availability of electronic components, plastics, and many other items continues to be highly restricted, which in turn leads to unavoidable delays, supply disruptions and price increases of previously unheard-of levels.

Like other component manufacturers, Meiller is also affected by these global supply chain problems and material scarcities, along with the challenges that they bring, and we are powerless to influence the situation.

We see it as our responsibility as a partner to inform you, our loyal customers, of this situation and at the same time to assure and uphold our delivery and supply promise. However, it is at present only possible to ensure secure and reliable supplies at considerable additional cost throughout the entire value chain. The metal products we use, such as sheet metal, stainless steel and aluminium have been impacted by price rises of in some cases over 50% in the last few weeks alone.

These rapid and drastic increases in the prices of raw materials, components and supplier products alter the entire cost calculation base to an extreme degree and place our entire industry under enormous pressure.

For more than ten years, we have been able to offer you spare parts at the same price. Unfortunately, the situation is such that we now have no choice but to raise the prices of our spare parts by 10% as of 1 June 2022.

We did not take this decision lightly, but the current cost situation has left us with no other choice if we wish to maintain our supply capability and continue to install high quality Meiller spare parts in future.

We will continue to supply our spare parts at short notice from our well-stocked warehouse so that lift operators will not have to endure long downtimes.

We would like to express our sincere thanks for your loyalty over the years and look forward to our continued fruitful business relationship.

Price increase as of 01 June 2022

Dear Sir or Madam,

The Russia-Ukraine war is leading to considerable distortions in the metalworking industry and is thus not stopping at the lift industry.

In addition to dramatically increased energy and raw material costs, bottlenecks across the board in materials and components are the result, especially in metals such as steel, stainless steel and aluminium. In addition, the availability of electronic components, plastics, etc. continues to be severely restricted, which in turn inevitably leads to delays, delivery failures and price increases that dwarf anything previously experienced.

Meiller, like all other component manufacturers, is facing precisely these challenges of global supply chain problems and material shortages and unfortunately has no influence on them.

However, we see it as our partnership responsibility to inform you as our loyal customers, and at the same time to ensure and keep our delivery and supply promise to you. However, a secure and reliable supply is currently only possible with considerable additional costs along the entire value chain. For example, the steel products we use, such as sheet metal, stainless steel or aluminium, have seen price increases of sometimes more than 50% within the last few weeks alone.

These drastic and rapid price increases for raw materials, components and supplier products are extremely changing the calculation basis and putting our entire industry under enormous pressure because they can only be borne by everyone together.

For this reason, we unfortunately can no longer avoid passing on a modest part of these increased costs to you:

In concrete terms this means:

An increase of the surcharge by another 5.3% for deliveries from June 1st, 2022
Extended delivery times in some cases as well as daily prices for special materials or custom-made products, especially stainless steel.
In extreme cases, changes even after order confirmation (due to the prevailing indefiniteness in the procurement of materials and components with limited availability)
Increase in packaging costs by 0.6% and a delivery/freight surcharge of 1.4% even for free deliveries

Orders received by May 31st, 2022 will be invoiced according to the current conditions. For orders received from June 1st, 2022 onwards, the new conditions will apply.

We kindly ask you to take the adjustment of material prices from week 16 onwards into account in your offers already today. Our offers will show the new conditions as of April 18th, 2022.

We would like to point out once again that our offer period is a maximum of 6 weeks and we can only consider these deadlines.

Unfortunately, the current development on the raw material markets does not bode well. There is now a huge shortage of materials in Europe, which is why a rapid recovery is not to be expected. Therefore, further price increases and material shortages can unfortunately not be ruled out.

Our industry is like a family that depends on a close cooperation based on partnership. Such crises and the resulting challenges can only be borne together. Therefore, we thank you very much for your understanding and solidarity!

Elevator Forums 2022

Dear Sir or Madam,

Normally at this time we would invite you to visit us at our stand at the interlift. But in times when our everyday life is unfortunately still strongly influenced by the pandemic, this - like so many things - is different this time: In the past weeks we have observed the situation very closely and discussed it internally, and after careful consideration we have come to the conclusion not to participate in the upcoming interlift 2022.
This decision was by no means easy for us, because we would all have been very happy to meet you again in person and show you our innovations live. But your health, that of all visitors and also of our employees, is our top priority, so we see no other option.

Discontinuation replacement shafts

Dear Sir or Madam,

With this letter we would like to inform you about the discontinuation of the replacement shafts for the Meiller spindle drive system as of 30.06.2022.

After 40 years of successful "spindle drive history" and the phasing out of this door drive variant in 2015 the supply of replacement shafts for the spindle drive will now also be discontinued.

Reduced delivery times

2021 was dominated by global supply problems and disruptions in the supply chain. Unfortunately, the situation has not yet eased and the issue is likely to continue to occupy us this year.

Current delivery times

Dear Sir or Madam,

For some time now, we have been communicating a delivery time of 10 - 12 weeks via our offers.
This is due to current procurement issues, i.e. longer delivery times for input materials such as sheet metal, stainless steel and electronic components. Unfortunately, our lift industry is not spared from global supply problems.

Here, delivery promises, even of blanket orders and long-term orders on our part, are not always kept despite delivery confirmation. At present, it is probably one of the greatest challenges to carry out industrial production without disruptions.

As a result, we currently need about 12 weeks to process our orders, with the trend possibly rising due to the difficult supply situation.
For certain materials such as stainless steel "linen pattern", the delivery time from the supply chain is significantly longer and for orders with this material we currently have a delivery time of up to 15 weeks.

We are currently doing everything possible to keep you well supplied, and delivery reliability of your orders is our highest priority. We ask for your understanding that our scope of action is limited.

As soon as material availability returns to normal, we will be able to return to our usual delivery times. In the meantime, we hope for a mutual understanding in partnership.

Modernizing car doos and upgrading to EN 81-20 standards

along with the drive and the control system, the car doors of an elevator are the components that are subjected to the most stress.

MEILLER has therefore developed a concept that upgrades the mechanics and door control system to the latest technical standards by completely replacing the original transom including the door drive. The core of this is the variable skate system, which can also be supplied with an upgrade to EN 81-20.

Price increases for steel products

Dear Sir or Madam,

The incessant and steadily rising purchase prices for steel products since end of last year are among the worrying issues in our industry. For example, the prices for steel materials we use, such as sheet steel, have increased by up to 50%. To date, we have endeavoured to bear these costs ourselves. Unfortunately, however, the impact of the price increase is so great that we are no longer in a position to continue to bear all these additional costs on our own.

We ask for your understanding that we will add a price surcharge of 4.9% to all orders received after 1^st April 2021, as well as existing orders delivered after 1^st May 2021. This covers - as already mentioned - only part of our additional costs.

We hope that the development of the steel prices will return to the usual price level very soon so that we can also reduce the surcharge accordingly.

We appreciate your understanding that we need your support in such a situation. We are "counting on you" and will work even harder to continue to provide you with high-quality products and a quick, competent and reliable service.

Modernise landing doors simply and efficiently

Dear Sir or Madam,

Modernising existing landing doors is a highly complex and cost-intensive job. In particular, replacing a door frame frequently necessitates extensive restoration measures, which often leads to additional, unpredictable costs for other works on the site, delays to the project, and inconveniences such as dust and noise to other tenants in the building.

However, existing landing doors are often still in good working order, and merely require relatively simple and cost-effective upgrading, such as repainting.

MEILLER has now developed an innovative concept that replaces the old mechanism with a new one, while retaining the frame and sill.

With the MEILLER MOD landing door concept, all the mechanical and electrical components are first of all removed from the transom. A new mechanical unit is then mounted inside the transom and linked to the existing door panels using adapter plates. The new system also provides for connection of the closing weight and adaptation of the emergency release. The door panels and the sill remain in situ.

The MEILLER MOD concept represents a fast, flexible and efficient means of modernising landing doors.

The corona virus still has the world under control, and almost daily the situation and the experts' assessment changes. Meiller presents SmokeGuard®

Dear Sir or Madam,

since the fire catastrophe in the Grenfell Tower in London in 2017, there has been a constant call for lift landing doors that are not only fire tested according to EN 81-58, but also smoke-tight, in particular to prevent smoke from spreading into the building via the lift shaft.

Simple and easy modernisation of car doors

Dear Sir or Madam,

as a manufacturer of elevator doors, we have been intensively working on solutions for modernization of car doors for many years and have developed various concepts.

On the one hand, there is the complete replacement of the old car door with a new door with an adapted skate, and on the other hand, we offer replacement kits that replace the worn, old door drive systems with a new, modern drive system. While in the one case you have to reckon with considerable effort for adaptation work on the existing car, such as the car door return, in the other case the replacement of the door drive system by means of replacement kits (RepKits) in the original environment of the car door transom is probably more a task for specialists. Our new approach is to avoid any adaptation work on the car and at the same time to make the replacement uncomplicated. For this purpose we offer a complete car door transom with special hanger brackets that are adapted to the geometry of the existing door panels, and a newly developed modular skate concept that replaces all skates systems known to us.

Should new door panels be required in addition, we have the possibility to reproduce the original contours with a newly developed, flexible door panel concept and to guide the new door panels in the original door sill.

With the new update 1.00.056 MiDrive is now even better!

Dear Sir or Madam,

a comprehensive update is now available for our MiDrive door drives. As usual, it can be called up in the App Store or in the Google Play Store and can be loaded via the app the next time you connect to the control unit on site.

Alternatively, we offer you the possibility of requesting a USB stick with the current version 1.00.056 from us. You can simply plug this stick into the USB socket on the control unit. The installation program then starts automatically and brings the MiDrive software up to date automatically.

Apart from a few minor error corrections and adjustments, the new update offers you above all more comfort and safety: All door signals are displayed in the MiDrive app as push messages. This means that you can now not only see error messages quickly and easily, but you can also follow what is happening at any given moment. And all this in a safe working environment, without having to climb onto the lift car roof.

To make it easier for you to classify the information, the push messages are highlighted in colour:

Blue messages are 24V signals, magenta ones come from the CANopen connection and red messages are relevant for the app.

In addition, the new version supports a so-called virtual terminal, provided that the control unit is connected to the elevator controller via CANopen. This enables you to make settings on the MiDrive drive or operate the door via the operating terminal on the lift controller.

The new MEILLER high-performance doors SPRINT 4.0i and SUPRA

Dear Sir or Madam,

Constant availability combined with safety, reliability and comfort - this is what lift operators and users expect from modern elevator systems.

You are familiar with our elevator doors and are aware of their high quality, whether they are standard doors for a passenger lift or extremely large doors for a heavy-duty industrial elevator.

We have now extended our product range by two further door series:

SPRINT 4.0i - the MEILLER igh speed door for ghigh speed lifts
SUPRA - the MEILLER high performance door for high quality lift systems

Both new door systems are equipped with high-performance rollers with a diameter of 90 mm. This not only means smoother running of the door panels, but also less wear and tear on the rollers, as they only make approx. 2 revolutions when opening or closing, for example, with a clear door width of 1100 mm.

Also a new skate system, based on the proven MEILLER technology, but with a larger running clearance of 12 mm, is standard equipment for both door series.

In order to suppress drafts and whistling noises when the lift car passes by in high-speed systems, the door panels of the SPRINT 4.0i are additionally equipped with overlaps. The high-performance MiDrive door drive ensures that the doors open and close as quickly as possible, thus minimizing stop loss times.

Gigantic highlights and new products from MEILLER on show at interlift 2019

15^th October marks the date again: interlift 2019 will open its doors at the exhibition center in Augsburg and will present for four days news and innovations around the topics of lifts and escalators.

Also we will be pleased to welcome you at our stand no. 5151 in hall 5 and to show you our latest product innovations.

We will present them in four thematic groups: Safety, door drives, modernization and new innovative door systems.

The products on display in the Safety group comprise:

FingerGuard^® - A safety system against finger trapping
ScooterGuard^®- Doors designed to reduce the risk of an electric scooter plunging into a lift shaft

Doors to replace Thyssen S7 / K7, S8 / K8 und S8A / K8A doors

Since the middle of 2018 ThyssenKrupp no longer manufactures the doors of the S7 / K7, S8 / K8 and S8A / K8A series.

In cooperation with ThyssenKrupp, MEILLER Aufzugtüren have developed an alternative product that can be used to install doors at additional floors (with one or more landing doors), to renew a car door or to replace existing landing or car doors.
This door range is available for two panel side-opening sliding doors S / K-2-R / L, for two panel center-opening doors S / K-2-Z or for four-panel center-opening S / K-4-Z.
The dimensions of the two-panel doors range from 700 mm to 1,400 mm, for the four-panel doors from 800 to 2,500 mm. The door heights are available for all types from 2,000 mm to 2,500 mm.

Reducing delivery times

Dear Sir or Madam,

The order situation in the lift industry has overwhelmed us during the past two years. Our production of lift doors had basically reached its limit. For that reason, we had to set some delivery periods to 10 weeks in order to be able to deliver on time.

That is why we decided last year to try to resolve the problem with delivery periods to better serve our customers in the foreseeable future in the fashion they are used to from us.

Fortunately, we are now able to report that delivery periods have been reduced to only six weeks, as of finalising the order. This does pertain to standard doors with standard scope of delivery. Special-design doors must be clarified as usual.

This decrease in delivery periods was achieved by increasing production capacity in conjunction with an additional production line, which went on line at our Munich plant in early 2019.

New heavy-duty sliding door ZENIT XTREME®

In January of 2019, MEILLER launched its new heavy-duty sliding doors ZENIT XTREME^®. As the name implies, everything is extreme with this door: Door widths from 2,400 mm to 8,000 mm with a maximum door height of 5,000 mm are possible as 6-panel centre-opening sliding door.

The extremely rugged door concept is especially designed for the harsh industrial operations.

Explosion-proof lift doors according to ATEX 2016/34/EU

The ATEX Directive 2016/34/EU entered into force now three years ago, creating a revised legal framework that redefines explosion protection in Europe. The existing Directive 94/9/EC at that time became ineffective when the new directive took effect. Invitation to product workshop 2019

Dear Sir and Madam,

Once again, we will be offering product workshops at our factory on Ambossstraße 4, 80997 Munich this year.

The workshops are geared especially to practitioners, such as lift installers and service technicians. Of course, any other persons interested are also welcome.

The workshops focus on the installation and adjustment of landing and car doors as well as their maintenance servicing. At the beginning, the workshop will cover theoretically the general basic knowledge of SIEMENS and MEILLER door controllers in combination with DC drives. Afterwards, participants are broken down into small groups, with presentations rotating:

The commissioning of MEILLER MiDRIVE door drive system and its setting for the respective application will be demonstrated first and then independently re-enacted by the participants.
Explanation of the individual door skates and adjustment instructions for the individual skate types.
Installation, adjustment and maintenance of landing and car doors

In addition, the energy saving modes “Eco” and “Eco+” will also be presented.

The participation fee is € 90.00 and includes all training documents and food.

The one-day workshops start at 9:00 AM and end at approx. 4:00 PM.

One year ago, we unveiled our new MiDrive door drive for the first time at Interlift 2017. That was our first and an important step towards the digital future of lift components.

Since its launch in January of this year, we have already delivered hundreds of car doors equipped with this new drive system: in all motor variations (200 kg, 400 kg, 800 kg, explosion-proof), for a wide variety of door versions (horizontal sliding doors and vertical gates) and for a wide range of applications.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude for the many positive responses we received as feedback. Customers have welcomed in particular the extremely easy commissioning of the door with the aid of our MiDrive app as well as the option to easily and individually adjust the separate parameters of the travel curve.

Thank you for the all the valuable tips that will help us to further improve our MiDrive. We will not rest and become complacent; instead we will strive to continue to work on the further development of our drives. New features are already in the pipeline, we will inform you about such shortly.

Doors with extremely reduced transom heights - MEILLER Kompakt

From your day-to-day work, you know that landing doors with a transom height of 250 mm and less are not uncommon in old installations. But what do you do when it is necessary to replace such doors and the dimensions of the new door are too big?

Electric mobility scooter accidents

The demographic change that is taking place with an ever-increasing share of an ageing population has led to a dynamic development of products that enhance the mobility of this group.

That includes, on the one hand, lifts that are designed to resolve any vertical access problems and, on the other hand, electric mobility scooters that extend the range of movement of this group significantly.

The attractiveness of such mobility aids has increased considerably thanks to the broadening range of products available and the significant decrease in purchase prices. More and more people are out and about with these electric mobility scooters.

At the same time, there has also been an increase in the number of related accidents, even at lifts. For instance, an electric mobility scooter that has accelerated due to operating error can easily breach a lift’s landing door.

This potential risk can be decreased considerably at a reasonable expense.

Discontinuation

Dear Sir and Madam,

Following the introduction of EN 81-20/50, we have to immediately discontinue three of our products that no longer comply with this standard. These are:

Premius lifting gate, single panel
GTS 5 linked-panel sliding door, opening on one side and
GTS 6 linked-panel sliding door, central opening.

Spare parts for these door types can still be obtained from our Spare Parts department.

Of course, all other products from our portfolio can be used in accordance with EN 81-20/50.

Discontinuation of our MAT frequency-controlled door drive

Dear Sir and Madam,

We hereby discontinue our MAT frequency-controlled door drive. As you know, the new lift standard EN 81-20/50 will replace the formerly valid EN 81-1/2 as of 1 Sept. 2017. In this context, we will be presenting an entirely new door drive concept that completely meets all of the requirements and specifications of the new standard, at the Interlift (from 17 to 20 Oct. 2017) in Augsburg, Germany.

This measure does not affect, of course, our standard AT 40 door drive, which already complies with EN 81-20/50.

Discontinuation of TG2 and Nova C45 door series

Dear Sir and Madam,

EN 81-20/50 gained exclusive validity on 31 Aug. 2017. At the same time, EN 81-1/2 is losing its validity and thus may not be applied any longer.

The products of our TG 2 generation of doors ( TTS/K 15, STS/K 16, TTS/K 18, 21 and 22) are no longer technically adapted to the new regulations. That also applies to the Nova C 45 series of doors.

For this reason, we are hereby discontinuing the aforementioned doors as of 31 Aug. 2017.

As of that date, these doors in their entire design based on EN 81-1/2 can only be purchased through our Spare Parts Sales.

We kindly ask you to take note of this.

The products of our TG 3 generation of doors (TTS/ 25, STS/K 26, TTS/K 28, 31, 32) have been thoroughly equipped to EN 81-20/50 for one year now.
